SCOTUS’s Failed Affirmative Action Decision

How the SCOTUS decision in Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard continues the court’s legacy in supporting the vestiges of American apartheid and Justice Jackson’s powerful voice in opposition to the court’s majority opinion — Yesterday’s SCOTUS decision striking down the ability of both private and public colleges to use race as a determining factor in admissions decisions is quite frankly one of the worst decisions of the Roberts’ Court. See Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard (U.S. 2023).

Moore v. Harper: A Battle of Judicial Supremacy

How the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Moore v. Harper and the North Carolina Supreme Court’s decision in Harper v. Hall avoided a battle between judicial interpretations of voting rights law — Voting Rights are again at the center of partisan debate — which in a representational republic is not bad.
